Quantum Platinum Plus 5W-40 is a fully synthetic oil formulated to reduce wear and support easier cold starts, with performance intended for highly stressed engines. Where its specification is suitable for your EA113 setup, these qualities make it our choice for this oil and filter service.

The 5W-40 viscosity grade alone does not establish compatibility. We check the exact oil product’s approvals against your engine’s required specification and your tuner’s or engine builder’s instructions before the appointment. Custom builds may require a different oil.

Why we recommend the optional NGK Iridium IX spark plugs

Reliable ignition matters on a tuned engine. NGK Iridium IX plugs use a fine iridium centre electrode to support ignitability, with resistance to fouling and electrode wear. Where suitable, BKR7EIX is our optional recommendation to help maintain dependable ignition, particularly when existing plugs are worn or no longer appropriate for the tune.

Modifications can change combustion temperatures and ignition requirements, so the correct plug heat range and gap must be matched to the exact engine and calibration. We confirm BKR7EIX suitability against your setup and tuner’s requirements rather than treating it as the right plug for every Stage 1, 2 or 3 car. This is a maintenance recommendation, not a promise of extra horsepower or a cure for every misfire.

Our recommended service interval

Midnight Performance recommends an engine oil and oil filter service every 6,000–8,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. The exact mileage within this range depends on your setup and how the car is used. Track use, frequent hard driving or a custom build may call for a shorter interval; follow any earlier interval specified by your tuner or engine builder. Spark-plug inspection and replacement intervals are agreed separately to suit the engine, tune and plug condition.

Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 2+ or Stage 3?

Tell us your engine code, tuner, remap details, fitted hardware and how you use the car. A remapped daily driver and a custom big-turbo build may need different oil specifications and maintenance plans. We consider the actual setup, not just the stage name.

For Stage 3, engine-swapped or custom-built cars, contact us before purchasing so we can confirm whether this package is suitable. Specialist fluids, additional work or build-specific requirements outside the listed package will be quoted separately and agreed first.

Optional NGK BKR7EIX spark plug replacement

We offer NGK Iridium IX BKR7EIX spark plugs as an optional extra, subject to suitability for your engine and tune. Neither the £180 nor the £205 package includes spark plugs or their fitting. Ask us for a separate fitted quote; any additional cost will be agreed before work begins. Plug suitability and gap are checked against your exact engine and tuner’s requirements.
